About One for The Block
One For The Block is a company designed to provide unrivaled quality and performance among all of our blades. We work hard to assure that every blade that leaves the shop is sharper than the day it was bought.
Our Story
My name is Theo Gross, founder of One For The Block and I have been sharpening knives for three years. I started learning how to sharpen knives when I was unhappy with the performance of my own and through experience, I have been able to produce blades that are not only sharp but durable and ground to maximize edge retention. I have a passion for knives and I have found that sharpness is one of the first traits that someone would use to define the quality of a blade. I know and appreciate the value of a sharp blade and that is why I founded One For The Block to extend this service to others. In addition to knife sharpening, I have recently started blade smithing and plan to sell custom knives and even one of a kind handle materials for experienced or beginner blade smiths like myself.
